HR manager held for duping 70 engineering grads

HYDERABAD: Madhapur police have arrested a human resources (HR) manager of a software firm and his associate for duping 70 engineering graduates to the tune of Rs 1crore by promising them lucrative jobs.
Police arrested K Kartik, HR manager of Avenue IT software firm at Kothaguda, and his associate V Phanindra Kumar, 28, of Khammam.
On May 25, one of the victims, M Ganesh of Nalgonda, had lodged a complaint with Madhapur police alleging that Kartik along with his associates Phanindra, Dheeraj, and Sekhar collected Rs1lakh to Rs1.5 lakh from 70 unemployed youths by promising jobs in Avenue IT firm located at Ektha Towers, Kothaguda in early 2017.
"The accused collected money and gave appointment letters to the victims. However, they never provided any training to the victims and never paid salaries as promised.When the victims started pressurising them for salary and training, the culprits locked up the office on June 1, 2017 and fled," Madhapur police said.
On Monday , police arrested Kartik and Phanindra from Madhapur. A cheating case was booked against the accused and they were remanded in judicial custody . A manhunt has been launched to nab the other absconding culprits.
